This is build number 1105 out of a total of 2000 GP1 produced worldwide. Each car was individually numbered and featured a unique, limited-edition specification designed for track performance. Like the original Model T ford available in black the GP1 gave a massive choice of one colourway, being Thunder Blue with a Pure Silver roof and red mirror caps. They were assembled by Italian coachbuilder Bertone who has had a hand in producing cars for both Lamborghini and Ferrari as well as special models for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat, and Volvo
The 2006 model was the first in the series of MINI GP, often referred to as the GP1. The followed by later generations GP2 and GP3, all with limited production runs.
The 2006 GP was more than just a special edition, it was MINI proving it could build a proper drivers car, something that could hold its own with track-focused cars from much larger brands. It also laid the groundwork for a legacy. But ask any MINI purist, and theyll likely tell you the original GP1 is still the best and being the first also the most collectable

The 2006 GPs rarity and rawness have made it a collectors item, but for those lucky enough to drive one, the GP is more than a museum piece. Its a reminder that sometimes less really is more and joy doesnt always equal perfect.
